Photographing the simple things

I am used to shoot during severe weather conditions, but maybe it's aging , the comfort of having a home and a family or just the enforced social distancing, but In the last few weeks I have been finding myself with no inspiration for outdoor photography. Unless there's something different like a big snow storm, I am enjoying the times spent inside.

With the lack of enthusiasm to go out and play, new opportunities comes to into my sight. Photographing simple things can be difficult, because most of the times, the simple comes unnoticed.

Light is the main substance of photography and light changes every day. As the Earth makes its dance in the universe around the Sun, the angle, the color and the intensity of light also changes. It's our duty as photographers capturing light and it's subtlety.

This photography series has been made since November 2020, capturing light in the simplest form, hitting mundane objects and things. There's nothing special about this shots, just the connection with light itself. I consider this pictures a Zen exercise, a way to connect with conscience and let the Universe express itself through my eyes.

"The power of our Muse lies in her meaninglessness. Even the style can turn one into a slave if one does not run away from it, and then one is doomed to repeat oneself. The only thing that counts is curiosity. For me personally, this is what creativity is about. It will express itself less in the fear of doing the same thing over again than in the desire not to go where one has already been" Gueorgui Pinkhassov

A clear influence for these images is a Russian photographer member of Magnum Photos named Gueorgui Pinkhassov, a master on giving meaning on every day objects and things.
